Colon cancer

Colorectal cancer (known as colon cancer or bowel cancer) is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the world. Annually, there are more than 1.2 million colorectal cancer cases diagnosed and 600,000 deaths due to this disease.

Colon Cancer: The most preventable, yet least prevented cancer.

It is estimated that roughly one-third of colorectal cancer-related deaths could be avoided if more people underwent regular colon cancer screening. Of those diagnosed, nearly half are expected to die within five years because most cases are detected when cancer has progressed and is less treatable.

For those whose cancer is detected at an earlier stage, the five-year survival rate can be greater than 90%. Lots of countries introduced colon cancer screening programs. Important in the colon cancer screening programs is the participation of the population very imporant. The higher the participation rate, the less colon cancer deaths and the higher the savings for the government (treatment of colon cancer is very expensive). The FECOTAINER increases the participation rate because its user-friendly character.
